On the evening of February 28, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a drone attack on the Odesa region, with the type and number of drones under investigation. The Odesa district was directly affected. The prosecutor's office reported that one man lost his life due to the attack.
A 41-year-old man was killed, and three others were injured and taken to the hospital. Damage occurred to a private residence, a business establishment, a sports facility, as well as both passenger and cargo vehicles.
Inspection of the area is ongoing, with a complete list of damages being compiled. Prosecutors, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the Russian military aggression.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated for the war crimes that resulted in a fatality (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region,” the statement reads.
