On Thursday, April 17, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot highlighted the significance of the Paris meeting, which represents an important milestone in international diplomacy, bringing together representatives from the USA, Europe, and Ukraine.
In an interview with LCI, the minister emphasized that this event is a notable achievement for France.
Following the meeting that involved delegations from Ukraine, the UK, France, Germany, and the USA, Barrot stated that it signifies a "diplomatic breakthrough" for his country.
"This is the first time that Americans, Ukrainians, and Europeans have sat together at the same table," he added.
The minister stressed that such meetings are crucial for achieving the common goal of peace.
"To make this happen, we must continue the dialogue. Americans want to end this war," he noted, emphasizing that the American side is "listening" and seeking a ceasefire.
As reported, on April 17, French President Emmanuel Macron hosted a US delegation at the Élysée Palace. A meeting also took place in Paris between the Ukrainian delegation and representatives from France, Germany, and the UK.
US Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, reported on the "very productive" meetings in Paris and shared a photo with President's Office head Andriy Yermak and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
