The MARTIAL ARTS FESTIVAL: UNBROKEN took place in Odesa, honoring the memory of fallen heroes of Ukraine.

This festival occurs several times a year, each dedicated to a specific fallen soldier, bringing together parents of the fallen, veterans, and combat federation representatives for a united cause.

“Events like these are essential for our homeland and for ourselves. It is our duty to keep our promise and honor the memory of our brothers and sisters who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine,” emphasized Denis Zharkov, the festival organizer and head of the NGO “It Matters.”

Vladimir Yermakov, head of the city’s veterans department, underscored the importance of cultivating a culture of memory in society: “We must change our attitude towards honoring the fallen - to form a true culture of memory. This is vital for those who have endured the hell of war, for the parents of the fallen, and for our entire society. Memory is our strength and obligation.”

The festival featured representatives from various sports organizations and federations. European and world champions showcased their skills in Japanese martial art Kudo, MMA, boxing, and adaptive jiu-jitsu.

The event was organized in partnership with the Odesa City Council's Department of Veterans Affairs.
