Hexagon has announced its new humanoid robot AEON, created in partnership with NVIDIA. The primary goal of this robot is to automate various technical and physical processes in manufacturing, logistics, aviation, and transportation.

The robot has trained in the virtual environment of NVIDIA Isaac Sim, which allowed it to master basic movement and manipulation skills in just a few weeks, whereas traditional training methods take much longer. In real-world applications, AEON operates on a Jetson Orin computer and will receive updates to IGX Thor for safe collaboration with humans.

AEON is also integrated with the Hexagon Reality Cloud Studio platform. This enables the robot to automatically scan spaces and objects, creating digital replicas for further analysis in the NVIDIA Omniverse environment. This approach facilitates the creation of highly accurate digital twins without the need for local infrastructure.

In the future, AEON will be capable of performing precise manipulations, checking parts for conformity, managing equipment, and teleoperation. Hexagon also plans to leverage NVIDIA Isaac GR00T generative models to expand the robot's skills based on simulations and human examples.

Initial tests of AEON are already being prepared at highly automated enterprises.
