OpenAI has announced that users of ChatGPT are sending over 2.5 billion queries daily worldwide, with more than 330 million coming from the United States. The platform's total weekly audience exceeds 500 million active users, according to Axios.

This data was released ahead of CEO Sam Altman's presentation at the Federal Reserve System conference in Washington, where he will unveil a new economic analysis prepared by OpenAI's chief economist and discuss the concept of "democratizing" artificial intelligence, which aims for an equitable distribution of economic benefits across the population.

Altman will propose a "third way" between AI proponents and those who fear its implications. OpenAI seeks to prevent concentrated power over AI development in the hands of large corporations while ensuring access to technology for the wider public.

U.S. President Donald Trump will also address artificial intelligence at the Winning the AI Race summit, and the White House will present its own 20-page action plan for AI development, which adopts a liberal and growth-oriented approach.

According to OpenAI, the key question is not whether AI will drive economic growth, but who will benefit from it. The company insists that the key to equitable distribution lies in making AI tools available to as many people as possible.

Additionally, OpenAI continues to enhance ChatGPT, recently launching the ChatGPT Agent—an AI agent that can operate a computer on behalf of the user.
