Ukraine is set to embark on a new phase in artificial intelligence development with the establishment of AI Factory. The Ministry of Digital Transformation is initiating this project, aimed at creating the first state infrastructure for implementing and scaling AI solutions within the country. This will ensure that the data of the state and its citizens remain protected within Ukraine’s sovereign data centers. AI products for Ukrainians, defense forces, and the public sector will become even more efficient.
Key state AI services, developed by WINWIN AI Center of Excellence for the Ministry of Digital Transformation, will operate on the AI Factory infrastructure. The first service will be the AI assistant in the Diia application. Furthermore, plans include the development of an AI tutor in the Mriya app, followed by projects in defense, healthcare, and scientific research.
AI Factory will comprise:
- hardware for operating AI services: computing clusters, servers, data storage systems
- software for training models and data preparation
- tools for data manipulation and service integration with registries
- educational programs for professionals working with AI solutions
The launch of AI Factory signifies an important step towards technological sovereignty and digital security for Ukraine. It marks the beginning of developing an independent AI ecosystem where solutions are created in Ukraine for Ukrainians.
