The 25th anniversary exhibition of advanced technologies CEATEC-2024 took place in the Japanese city of Chiba.
This year, for the second consecutive time, Ukrainian companies presented their technological innovations at Asia's largest international exhibition. The Odesa City Council delegation showcased Ukrainian IT developments at a joint booth. The director of the "Odesa 5T Grant Office" Tamila Afanasieva presented innovations from the IT Family Odesa cluster and the Faculty of Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Computer Science of the International Humanitarian University.
The Odesa delegation also participated in the 13th Asia Smart City Conference held in the sister city of Yokohama. The conference united global leaders in urban development, key players, and innovators in technological advancement. During their stay in Japan, the Odesa delegation held protocol meetings with the mayor of Yokohama, city council leadership and deputies, as well as met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Japan.
Moreover, working negotiations were conducted with representatives of Yokohama's municipality, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Japanese office of the United Nations Development Programme. Priority infrastructure projects for the city of Odesa were discussed alongside several Japanese tech companies, including Nippon Koei, JFE Engineering, and Sansei. Meetings also took place with members of Japan's National Commission for UNESCO, where they discussed both Odesa's and Japan's experiences in preserving and restoring cultural heritage sites.
Japanese society representatives expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom and an openness to collaborate with the Odesa community. Together, we are moving closer to Victory!
