One of the main priorities of the Government is the digitization of veteran services. The Diia app now offers a long-awaited document for Ukrainians - the veteran ID.
Now, over 1 million Ukrainians can utilize the electronic ID in various situations - from applying for loans to accessing social services, eliminating the need to carry a paper version.
The document is available for:
• war veterans;
• combat participants;
• people with disabilities due to war;
• participants of the Revolution of Dignity;
• family members of deceased veterans;
• family members of fallen defenders of Ukraine.
How to add the veteran ID in Diia:
- download the Diia app and click on «Add Document»;
- select «Veteran ID» and agree to provide information from other registries;
- click «Add» and wait for the document to appear. It will take a few minutes.
What to do if the document is not found?
This means that your information has not been entered into the Unified State Register of War Veterans by the issuing authority as per current legislation.
Check your paper ID for the issuing authority.
Call the Unified Veteran Line at 0 800 505 217 to report.
Where can the electronic veteran ID be used?
To access benefits and compensations as specified by current legislation, including:
- for free public transport;

- in education;
- when applying for administrative services at the CNAP;
- for employment and business registration.
These services are implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation in cooperation with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, supported by the UNDP project in Ukraine.
