The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine warns about the dangers of fraud.

During the ongoing war, Telegram has become not only a source of news but also a hub for fraudulent activities. Over 70% of Ukrainians contact the digital security hotline Nadiyno.org with reports of hacked Telegram accounts.

Common phishing tactics used by fraudsters after account hacking include sending messages asking for money or soliciting votes for a friend's daughter in a contest.

Here are some tips to protect your account:

- enable two-step verification;

- avoid clicking on suspicious links;

- check active sessions in your Telegram settings and log out from unfamiliar devices;

- restrict access to your personal information;

- use passwords and two-factor authentication instead of SMS for logging in.

 Check your Telegram settings today. Additionally, take the test from Nadiyno.org to find out if you can distinguish real messages from phishing traps — ne.nadiyno.org/telegram.
