On April 4, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to expand the functions of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in the areas of innovative technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor technology.
This information was confirmed by government representative Taras Melnychuk in the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the updates to the Ministry's statute, new responsibilities include:
supporting the development of the robotics and semiconductor sectors, stimulating production of innovative technologies for defense needs;
defining key development areas and ensuring regulatory compliance;
providing financial support to companies engaged in robotics development;
coordinating testing and research activities;
creating infrastructure for testing and demonstrating robotics systems;
promoting artificial intelligence development in Ukraine.
It is also important to note that the Cabinet of Ministers transferred the regulation of gambling from the Gambling Commission to the Digital Ministry.
